The Board of Mental Health Foundation Australia is seeking passionate young people to join our Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) of 2022. YAP members in previous years have played a significant role in our programs including National Mental Health Month and many have given feedback that they enjoyed being a part of the program which runs annually.The Mental Health Foundation Australia is seeking to expand its reach among younger Australians as well as increase awareness of the Foundations’ work in the area of Youth Mental Health among businesses, parliamentarians, government organisations and agencies, universities, TAFE colleges as well as schools and the mental health sector in general.

Applications for the Youth-Ambassadors Program 2022 are open to all members of the community aged between 16 and 25 years who are passionate about youth mental health to join the program. This program provides an opportunity to network with like minded individuals, excellent volunteering experiences and allows members to spearhead the youth mental health scene in Australia.

We are looking for individuals:

  • Who are dedicated and able to attend monthly meetings as well as carrying on advocacy work on an ongoing basis;
  • Who have the eagerness and passion to contribute
  • Who can effectively market the work of the YAP on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn;
  • Who can assist in getting the MHFA in direct contact with other youth
  • Who will embody our passion and dedication for better youth mental health and who will help emphasise the prestige and honour that is associated with being a member of the YAP.
  • Engage people from your community in MHFA Multicultural and Indigenous programs
  • Commit approximately 1-2 hours of your time each month plus additional hours as required

How to Apply

In your role as Youth Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to identify and discuss key issues affecting young people and contribute ideas for youth programs. YAP members may also get to work alongside MHFA staff to plan key events, speak at or attend MHFA functions and seminars. Being part of the YAP is a great opportunity for professional development and expanding your networks, while having some fun along the way!
