The JET Alumni Association of WA is a self-supporting alumni association that seeks to achieve broader and deeper understanding between Japan and other partner countries. With over 50 local JETAA Chapters in 15 countries, it currently employs a membership of around 23,000 individuals.
This year, the JETAAWA is aiming to enhance foreign language education in Japan through its JET Programme to promote international exchange at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese and foreign youth.
JET Programme is proving opportunities for students in all disciplines to fill in the following roles: Assistant Language Teachers, Coordinators for International Relations (Japanese language requirement), and Sports Exchange Advisors. The Programme offers a renewable contract of one year, ending in July or August of the year following the departure. Travel expenses to and from Japan are covered by the contracting organisation, as well as accommodation. Successful participants will be placed in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan, but they are encouraged to indicate placement preferences prior to commencement.
Interested students are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in any subject by July of the year of departure and must be a citizen of the country where the recruitment and selection procedures take place.
