The Careers and Employability Award is a program in which students gain practical, real world experiences, skills and knowledge to embark on an enriching future career journey. This hands-on learning approach is highly valued by employers and assists students to become career-ready in their chosen field. The award requires online trainings, work experiences, seminars/webinar participation, and completion of online modules like the Employ 101.

The Employ 101 is a set of online modules that will guide students on the basics of business/professional etiquette and labour insights to prepare them for employment.

Employ 101 is comprised of 3 modules:

  • Module 1 – Self Awareness (approximately 1 hour)
  • Module 2 – Labour Market (approximately 1 hour)
  • Module 3 – Your Toolkit (approximately 3 hours)

Within each module of the Employ 101 course, students will find a series of activities that will guide them through the creation of a personal ‘Career Toolkit’ that they can use for job search.

The ‘Career Toolkit’ is a collection of ‘living’ documents that will continue to develop as students progress through their studies and refine throughout their career.
