Joondalup Innovation Challenge (JIC), delivered in partnership with FRANK, is a multi-institution competition that brings together 200 students from nine education organisations. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to solve a real-world problem faced by members of the Joondalup community, spanning themes including: Smart Cities, Digital Innovation, and Empowered Communities.
This is your chance to be a change maker; you'll:
- develop employability skills including communication, innovation, leadership, business agility and networking,
- prepare yourself for the future of work by learning how to make decisions rapidly and deploy creative technology-based solutions, and
- build your confidence and capability in digital literacy by attending mastermind sessions and preparing video pitches using the latest technology platforms.
JIC has been co-created by the City of Joondalup and brings together business mentors, start up incubators and TedX style keynote speakers.
The program is suitable for students from any discipline of study (excluding Master of Business Administration) and will be recognised as part of the UWA Careers and Employability Award, and UWA Advance's digital badging. Furthermore, you'll receive a digital certificate of completion from FRANK that can be displayed on your LinkedIn profile to demonstrate your achievement to prospective employers.

Thursday 22 September, 5-8pm, in-person in Joondalup for onshore students, online for offshore students
Commitment:
13 hours contact time, plus approximately 12 hours of additional group work
