Are you passionate about your community and making change? The Minister for Youth is seeking young Western Australians to step up and join her advisory council.

Apply today to join the Ministerial Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) to have your voice heard and help shape the future of young people in WA! Applications close at 10pm Thursday, 12 October 2023.

The MYAC provides advice to the Minister on topics that are important to young people or that the State Government is working on, based on their own experiences and their unique perspective as a young person.

Who can apply to be on the MYAC?

Are you:

Aged between 15 and 25 years old (as at 1 July 2024, when your term would commence)?

Living in Western Australia?

Interested in making a difference and having your voice heard?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you can apply!

Why become a MYAC member?

In addition to having the opportunity to play a key role on the development of the next Action Plan for young people in Western Australia, MYAC members will have the opportunity to:

Develop confidence, social connections, and leadership skills, whilst playing a key role in providing advice to government on topics that you’re passionate about.

Get real world experience and develop skills providing advice directly to government, working with the Minister for Youth and the Department of Communities.

Represent your peers and draw from your lived experiences to provide advice to government on issues that are important to you.

How can you apply?

To apply you need to fill out the application form online, submit your resume and provide answers to the following:

1.What do you think are the top issues most important for young people in Western Australia that the Minister for Youth should know about?

2.If you were the Minister for Youth, how would you address the issues that you have outlined?

3.Tell the Minister for Youth why you are interested in applying to be a member of the MYAC.
