Don’t forget your keep cup!
Did you know last year one in 10 Guild Café customers used a keep cup, meaning around 240,000 single-use cups went straight to landfill. Bring your own Keep Cup or use one from our restocked Keep Cup libraries in Quobba, Hackett, Catalyst and Business School cafes for 30c off every refill. It works on an honour system so please return your cup after use and the Guild Café staff will kindly wash it in their industrial dishwashers ready to save another single use cup.
You can also purchase a Keep Cup at 40% off during August. Keep an eye out for Student Volunteers giving out Keep Cup Karma to those using keep cups!
Thanks to the Government of Western Australia’s Waste Sorted Community Education Grant, working to encourage staff and students to “Be a GREAT Sort and Make Landfill the last resort.” Here are some GREAT tips:
Gift to charity, swap or sell unwanted items
Recycle only these 5: Aluminium, Plastic, Paper, Cardboard, Glass
Earth-cycle food scraps and garden waste
Avoid excess packaging
Take special waste to drop off points
Together we can be more sustainable, reduce waste and create positive change. Imagine if all 28,000 students and more than 3,500 staff took individual actions for a more sustainable approach to living!
